Can People and Grizzly Bears Co-Exist?

Our ocean faces many threats like the onslaught of ocean trash, overfishing and ocean acidification. We work with you to protect the ocean from today’s greatest global challenges. Together, we create science-based solutions for a healthy ocean and the wildlife and communities that depend on it.

Today, we work with millions of volunteers of all ages worldwide. We participate every year, and now we share the knowledge about the impacts of plastic on the ocean and all the amazing animals in it and show how you can make a difference.

Standing Together for a Better World

From cleaning up marine litter and sewage pollution to increasing awareness about toxic chemicals and climate change, we aim to improve the quality of the world’s oceans and beaches. While educating the public about conserving and protecting the marine environment, we work to change government policy and industry practices for the better, too.

We are Protecting The Ocean From Challenges

Can People and Grizzly Bears Co-Exist?

The answer is yes. And the future of these majestic animals depends on it! We are on the ground in the grizzly country protecting and restoring bear populations – but we need your help. The primary factor limiting grizzly bear recovery is human-caused mortality. Bears die when they get into conflicts with people.

We Are Working to End the Injustice of Poverty

We help people build better futures for themselves, hold the powerful accountable, and save lives in disasters. Our mission is to tackle the root causes of poverty and create lasting solutions. Our approach is about tackling the conditions that cause poverty in the first place, rather than the distribution of material goods.

West Africa

The purpose is to empower the children of Mali by expanding educational opportunities for them within their own communities. The inspiration and vision came, in part, through working with families to define and solve the problems they face on a daily basis and to better their standard of living.

East Africa

We support local projects that target the needs of disadvantaged children in East Africa. We support small projects in Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda that make a real difference. We are helping centers, education programmes, individual pupils and projects for communities struggling to take care of their children.

India

Although there is more wealth in India than ever before, it hasn’t fully translated into healthcare, education or better nutrition for the poor. We are bringing healthcare to the impoverished areas of India, and we’re pioneering new ways of reaching communities to help treat malnutrition and prevent deaths.

Latin America

We work in Latin America to provide for some of the world’s poorest children. With a population of 568 million, nearly 25% live on less than $2 a day. We work in these areas to help bring hope and possibilities into children’s lives, allowing them to thrive in the bright futures they all deserve.

JEFF WESTLAKE

The cohesion, encouragement, and inspiration of the team of volunteers have been immense. My online collaboration is easily on par with that of a face-to-face setting.

RYAN BROWN

VOLUNTEER

It has provided me with a schedule to my week, comradeship, a feeling of being of value, emotional support, and an opportunity for me to repay by helping to carry out our work.

DENIS COOK

VOLUNTEER

I'm glad to support others, my personal experience helped to highlight the importance of charity, providing support to people and in attracting research into this healthcare area.

THERESA JENKINS

VOLUNTEER

What inspires me to volunteer is knowing that as much as I give out I get right back. Volunteering at an event allows me to connect with others, to just help and have a purpose.
